Optical Flow for Super Resolution

An experiment was done where optical flow was used as the tracking stage of the SR algorithm. It was found that Optical Flow is

• not suitable when there are large pixel movements between frames.
• highly sensitive to noise.
• computationally intensive (some have implemented it in hardware).
